How It Works

  1. Kernel Compatibility: Before diving in, note that your kernel must still support external network adapters. This module doesn’t magically enable compatibility—it merely provides missing firmware if needed.

  2. Supported Chipsets: The module covers various chipsets, including:

    • Ralink: RT2501, RT2501USB, RT2561, RT2561S, RT2571W, and more.

    • Realtek: RTL8188*, RTL8192*, RTL8821/12*.

    • Atheros: AR9170, AR7010.

    • Mediatek: MT7601u.

    • Broadcom: bcm43xx (not tested), BRCM4335, BRCM4339, BRCM4354.

  3. Adapter Compatibility: It works with popular adapters like TL-WN722N, AWUS036NEH, TE-W322U, Netgear_WN111v2, and more.
